This EU public consultation covers programmes and actions aimed at protecting and promoting European values as well as supporting mobility, education and training, cultural diversity, fundamental rights, an EU area of justice, digital competence, creativity, and European historical memory and remembrance.
Such programmes and actions empower citizens, develop their skills and competences and contribute to open, democratic, more equal, inclusive and creative societies.
This public consultation seeks to identify strengths and weaknesses of existing programmes and actions, as well as possible ways forward and highlight any possible synergies among them. This consultation is open until 08 March 2018 and the online questionnaire is available here.
These consultations will significantly influence the Commission’s thinking as it prepares its proposals for funding 2021-2027 scheduled to be published in May, and all citizens, stakeholders and organisations are encouraged to register their views. You can contribute as an individual or on behalf of a registered organisation.
Under the EU Regional Development Fund only €5.269 billion has been earmarked directly to culture, out of which €4.770 billion will go to cultural heritage. Cultural heritage stakeholders should therefore have a say in the design of the next generation of EU Structural Funds from 2021 onwards.
This can also be the opportunity to call for quality criteria or quality control systems in the allocation of funds to heritage-related projects. The consultation is open until 8 March 2018. The online questionnaire is available here.
