Pauline McNamara Executive Producer, Animation and Independent Commissioning, Young People’s Programmes, RTE
Pauline Macnamara is a Commissioning Executive in RTÉ’s Young People’s Programmes department, with responsibility for commissioning live-action programming from the independent sector and managing RTE’s animation slate. Before joining RTÉ, Pauline worked as a producer in the independent sector for over 15 years across entertainment, daytime and youth programming. She also worked as a production manager on the original Riverdance stage show and spent a year working on the start-up of the first national commercial radio station, Today FM. She joined RTÉ in 2005 as Series Producer in Young People’s Programmes, where she devised and produced a daily entertainment series, a talent series, a daily teen strand and a weekly chat show before taking up her current role in 2010.
Jackie Edwards – Head of Children’s acquisitions and Independent Animation, CBBC/CBeebies
Jackie is Executive Producer, Animation and Acquisitions for CBeebies – the U.K.’s foremost dedicated pre-school television channel. Prior to joining CBeebies in October 2008, Jackie worked as an animation producer and consultant working on many prestigious and award-winning animated series and specials in the Independent sector, from BAFTA, RTS, Prix Jeunesse and Prix Danube winning ‘The First Snow of Winter’ BBC1 through to the Pulcinella winning ‘Frankenstein’s Cat’ for CBBC and France 3. At CBeebies, Jackie manages the Animation and Acquisitions slate and she is Executive Producer on many of CBeebies animated series, such as ‘Tree Fu Tom’, ‘Driver Dan’s Story Train’, ‘The Octonauts’, ‘Raa Raa the Noisy Lion’ and ‘Rastamouse’.
Sebastian Debertin – Head of Fiction Acquisition and Co-production, KIKA
Sebastian Debertin helped create and launch KiKA – Der Kinderkanal of ARD & ZDF in November 1996. As Head of Fiction, Acquisitions and Co-Productions, a position he has held for more than 15 years, Sebastian oversees all international acquisitions, productions and co-productions. Sebastian has won several national and international awards, including an Emmy. When it comes to acquisitions and co-productions, he looks for all genres of programming from international sources. Furthermore, he is responsible for program development, contract negotiations with national and international partners, relationship management with KI.KA’s international production and distribution partners, supervision of productions, co-productions and dubbing projects, and securing third-party funding. In his role as Deputy Managing and Programming Director, Sebastian is responsible for international business affairs and development on behalf of the channel.
