MEDIA Films and Events at the Venice Film Festival 2017

The next European Film Forum will take place during the 74th Venice International Film Festival where the European Commission will host two events.

  • Virtual Reality, Sunday 03 Sep, 3-6pm

This event will focus on virtual reality and its industrial and societal effects. It will take place on Sunday 3 September, from 15:00 to 18:00 at the Excelsior Hotel, Venice Lido, Sala degli Stucchi.

  • EU's support to the audiovisual industry, Monday 4 September, 10-11:45am

This event will be devoted to EU's support to the audiovisual industry and will focus on the shaping of the new MEDIA Programme. The newly appointed Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Mariya Gabriel, will share her perspective on the current and future MEDIA programme. The event will take place on Monday 4 September, from 10:00 to 11:45 at the Excelsior Hotel, Venice Lido, Sala degli Stucchi.

If you are interested in Virtual Reality, Screen Training Ireland and Dublin International Film Festival will host an Immersive Content Creation training day on Saturday, 23 September 23 in Dublin. This one day course will offer creatives across live action and digital production a deeper understanding of the craft of immersive storytelling for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.
