Irish Aerial Creation Centre is a Partner in Creative Europe project, Island Connect

Congratulations to Irish Aerial Creation Centre who are the Irish partner in the Creative Europe supported project, Island Connect. This project emerged from a two-year research phase between three cultural operators from Croatia, Denmark and Spain. During this period, collaboration and exchange models were developed between the organisations, selected artists and island communities.

The Island Connect project will invite over fifty artists from five island countries of Europe to take part in research and creative artistic residencies to create new works. The work will explore notions of insularity from a diverse range of perspectives including geographic, social, economic, and philosophic viewpoints through artistic practices of dance, theatre and circus.

Island Connect will engage local audiences, communities, traditions, folk tales, and fables to reveal creative ways in which islands might connect. Artists will be given time, resources, mentoring and production support to enable these discoveries through artistic practices of dance, theatre and circus.
