We will look at policy priorities for Creative Europe which aim to contribute to Europe’s recovery and to a greener, more sustainable and inclusive future as presented in the European Commission's Green Deal strategy.
Joining us will be Ruth Reichstein, Member of I.D.E.A. Advisory Board to the European Commission President on European Green Deal and New European Bauhaus.
Alice Ryan from the Arts Council of Ireland will present with Claire Buckley from Julie's Bicycle in the UK on developing a new Climate Policy for the Arts Council.
We'll also feature Case Studies on Irish and Creative Europe projects which showcase organisations and individual artists working with sustainability at the heart of their projects.

- 10.30am: Aoife Tunney, Creative Europe Desk Ireland Culture Office: Introduction and welcome
- 10.35am: Ruth Reichstein, Green Europe & Cultural Field Member of I.D.E.A. Advisory Board to the European Commission President on European Green Deal and New European Bauhaus.
- 10.50am: Arts Council of Ireland and Julie’s Bicycle. Alice Ryan introduces the new Climate policy for the Arts Council. Claire Buckley from Julie’s Bicycle gives a UK overview of policy development.
- 11.05am: Case Study: Cultural Adaptations. Niamh Ní Chonchubhair from Axis Ballymun and artist Maeve Stone will reflect on the Creative Europe project Cultural Adaptations and their Green Arts Department.
- 11.20am: Case Study: SlowMo - part of Creative Europe’s Perform Europe platform, Irish project Instant Dissidence’s Rita Marcalo will talk about this outdoor participatory work travelling from Cloghjordan Ecovillage by land and sea to destinations in Cyprus, Denmark, Sweden, Italy and UK. Slow Travelling is not merely to reduce carbon emissions but has become their framework for making new work.
- 11.30am Philipp Dietachmair, European Cultural Foundation Philipp will look at green mobility for artists and the i-Portunus award from Creative Europe.
- 11.40am Tania Banotti, Creative Ireland Climate Action Funds. An initiative which supports creative, cultural and artistic Irish projects that build awareness around climate change and empowers citizens to make meaningful behavioural changes in their lives.
- 11.50am: Case Study: Irish Architecture Foundation, Reimagine. Featuring the Worker’s Village which was funded under the Creative Climate Action Fund, IAF and architects working with communities of three Bord na Móna villages in the Midlands around reconsidering their relationship with the land and building just transitions to new energy alternatives in a sustainable way that preserves the architectural and cultural framework of their village.
