The European Film Awards are hosting a Young Audience Film Day on Sunday 06 May in 37 countries across Europe! The Irish jury has been selected by the Irish Film Institute who will host the jurors and screen the nominated films on the day. The Irish event is a partnership between Creative Europe Ireland MEDIA and the IFI and is supported by the BAI Sectoral Development Fund.
The juries are made up of 12 to 14 year-olds in 37 countries and 46 cities across Europe. On the day the juries will watch the three films nominated for the European Film Academy Young Audience Award. After the screening they will vote for their favourite film via video conference to Erfurt, Germany.
The three nominated films are:
- Sandra Vannucchi’s La Fuga (Girl in Flight)
- Selma Vilhunen’s Hobbyhorse Revolution
- Berni Goldblat’s Wallay
The winning film will be announced in an awards ceremony which you can watch live from Germany on yaa.europeanfilmawards.eu.
You can view the three films online from 07 May. EFA Productions with the support of Creative Europe Media will make the nominated films available for young viewers all year around on VOD platforms such as iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft and Pantaflixas well as on local platforms like Filmin or Univerciné. Films nominated in earlier competitions will be added next year.
