European Film Forum on International Film Funds at San Sebastian Film Festival 2018
20 September 2018

European Film Forum on International Film Funds at San Sebastian Film Festival 2018

The next Creative Europe hosted European Film Forum is on 24th September at the San Sebastián Film Festival with a focus on film support funds in Europe and Latin America. The forum will present the most relevant funds in terms of funding volume, support lines and results.

International film support funds support national film industries and promote co-productions with countries that have a more limited film production capacity. They also play a crucial role in the development of film industries, acting as mediators between creators, potential partners and festivals to help raise their international profile.

There will be a debate on the role of supranational organisations such as Creative Europe MEDIA, Eurimages and Ibermedia, as they support co-productions between their member countries as a key tool to strengthen the audio-visual industry, to boost larger-scale films and to expand the international circulation of these films.
