FAMILY FESTIVAL 2017 | WORKSHOP – YOUNG FILM EXPLORERS | AGE 10-12
Have you visited other parts of Europe and wondered what it might be like to live there? Imagine growing up in a snowy climate or somewhere you couldn’t move freely. On Sunday 27 August from 12pm, Creative Europe MEDIA Desk and IFI Schools offer a free film programme for children aged 10-12. Young Film Explorers offer a programme of films for young people interested in seeing different stories from across Europe, and is part of the IFI's Family Festival
What does Milica have to do to get across the Serbian border? Will a young boy get to see Europe’s biggest dam? Watch wonderful European stories and take part in a number of film-related activities. There will be a facilitator on hand to create an enjoyable space for discovery and discussion. More information and booking available here.
This event is created as a lead-in to the EFA Young Audience Award which Irish Film Institute Education and Creative Europe Desk Ireland – MEDIA Office will host in May 2018. If you’re interested in hearing more about this initiative, please come and talk to us after the event.
Young Audience Award
The EFA YOUNG AUDIENCE AWARD presents three European films to 12-14-year-old audiences across Europe. They watch the nominated films in a special event, the YOUNG AUDIENCE FILM DAY. The young audience acts as a jury and votes for the winner right after the screenings.
In a truly European vote, jury speakers then transmit the national results live via video conference to Erfurt (Germany) where the winner is announced in an award ceremony streamed live on the Young Audience Award special website which offers further information about the nominated films and the participating cities.
