CORK INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL | 5 - 21 NOVEMBER
Cork Film Festival kicks off on Friday 5th November and runs until 21st November. The last three festivals have been proudly supported by Creative Europe MEDIA.
DON'T GO WHERE I CAN'T FIND YOU | IRISH SHORTS IN COMPETITION | 13 NOV CIFF
A short written and directed by Rioghnach Ni Ghrioghair which was supported by MEDIA funding as part of a Slate development award to Samson Films. Presented as part of Irish Shorts 2 in Competition - watch in person on Saturday 13th November at the Gate Cinema, Cork (sold out). In Ireland, you can also watch the Irish Shorts 2 programme online.
A NIGHT OF KNOWING NOTHING | Sat 6th Nov, Gate Cinema, Cork

A box is found in a university in India; its contents include SD cards holding video files and letters detailing a doomed relationship. What grows from these roots is an enigmatic film that looks closely at contemporary Indian society, quietly weaving together a tale of immense visual power. Director Payal Kapadia’s debut feature was winner of the Best Documentary Award at Cannes. The documentary received support from the Hubert Bals Fund which is supported by Creative Europe.
WOMEN DO CRY | Sunday 7th Nov, Gate Cinema
A Bulgarian & French co-production from activist directors Mina Mileva and Vesela Kasakova. A drama about Bulgaria’s treatment of women which examines how a family made up mostly of women deals with sexism and conservative values in their country. Supported by Eurimages.
On November 14th, 2021 the sixth European Arthouse Cinema Day will take place in cinemas all over the world. The CICAE and Europa Cinemas team up again to celebrate the engagement of movie theatres in favour for a European living cultural diversity through very rich and exclusive programs. Since 2016 over 600 cinemas in more than 40 countries have participated each year.
This year, in Ireland, Triskel Arts Centre in Cork will screen LAST YEAR IN MARIENBAD on Sunday 14th November at 2.15pm and 5pm.
