SORRY WE  MISSED YOU | UK | 01 NOV 

Directed by Ken Loach and written by Paul Laverty (I, Daniel Blake),  Sorry We Missed You is a powerful exploration of the contemporary world of work, the gig economy and the challenges faced by one family trying to hold it all together. The film received MEDIA support through the Sales Agent scheme and Automatic Distribution support for its releases in Denmark, Poland and Sweden. 

 

MEETING GORBACHEV | 8TH NOVEMBER

Legendary director Werner Herzog returns MEETING GORBACHEV,  an intimate portrait which traces Gorbachev's journey from a humble upbringing in a small village to General Secretary of the USSR. Gorbachev oversaw drastic changes that helped end the Cold War and bring down the Berlin Wall. Told through a series of interviews between Werner Herzog and Mikhail Gorbachev, and entwined with unforgettable archive footage. Directed by Werner Herzog and André Singer. UK production company Spring Films received TV Programming support in for this project.

 

CORK FILM FESTIVAL | 7 - 17 November 2019

Cork Film Festival is supported by Creative Europe Film Festival funding for the second year running! They will screen over 70% European films and documentaries in their 2019 Festival programme.  

access<CINEMA: Via its national network of non-profit and voluntary organisations, access>CINEMA screens the best of European films across Ireland in 80 venues and film clubs such as Solstice Arts Centre, NavanSource Arts Centre, Thurles; the Galway Film Society, Townhall Theatre; Carlow Visual CentreCork Cine Club; and The Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire. They have received MEDIA funding through the Distribution Selective scheme
