Rojo is set on the eve of the 1976 Argentinian coup that ushered in a military dictatorship. Directed by Benjamín Naishtat this is a dark satire on Argentina's troubled history during its Dirty War. An international co-production between Argentina, France, the Netherlands, Brazil, Germany and Switzerland, the film received financial backing from IFFR's HBF+Europe: Minority Co-production support which is supported by MEDIA's International Co-production Fund.

Pedro Almodóvar's Pain and Glory, is a semi-autobiographical film about an ageing director whose physical ailments and creative block have led him to retreat from the world. Antonio Banderas stars as the director, Salvador Mallo, whose insular life is shaken up when he reunites with an actor from his past and embarks on a wild new chapter of his life. Via flashbacks and present-day encounters, we revisit Mallo's relationships and early loves. The film features an ensemble cast with Penélope Cruz featuring in flashbacks as the director's mother. Pain and Glory was supported by Creative Europe's Automatic Distribution scheme.
