‘My Brother Chases Dinosaurs’ voted winner of Young Audience Award 2020

'My Brother Chases Dinosaurs' by Italian director Stefano Cipani was voted the winner of the EFA Young Audience Award, 2020.  The juries of young people watched the three nominated films online on Festival Scope, discussed the films on video groups, and then cast their votes online. 

The three YAA nominated films were: 

  1. WINNER: MY BROTHER CHASES DINOSAURS /MIO FRATELLO RINCORRE I DINOSAURI. Italy, Spain
  2. MY EXTRAORDINARY SUMMER WITH TESS / MIJN BIJZONDER RARE WEEK MET TESS. The Netherlands, Germany
  3. ROCCA CHANGES THE WORLD / ROCCA VERÄNDERT DIE WELT. Germany

YAA is an initiative from the European Film Awards which are supported by Creative Europe. 

MY BROTHER CHASES DINOSAURS | ITALY

Based on a true story and a bestselling book, the film tells the story of a young boy, Jack, who is told that his baby brother, Gio, is 'special' and comes to believe he has superpowers. When Jack realises that Gio has Down's Syndrome, he goes into crisis. As a teenager, Jack denies the existence of this 'inconvenient' brother altogether. Will the truth come to light and can Jack keep pretending to the girl he falls in love with?
