An intensive workshop dedicated to marketing strategy and social media for independent films.

2-Day Workshop |14 & 15 September, Galway

This workshop is meant for producers and other film professionals interested in developing their marketing skills and in getting up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends. The small group of 12 participants will work on the marketing of a not-yet-released Irish film that will be used as a main case study throughout the workshop. The Film will be screened at 11.00am on September 14th in the Pálás Cinema Galway. This will be followed by a general presentation from Alphapanda founder Mathias Noschis which will be open to the wider audio-visual sector.

On Day 2 of the Workshop through brainstorms and group discussions, the participants will elaborate a marketing strategy for the film and develop a social media plan that includes creative ideas as well as engagement activities.

After the workshop, participants will be offered the opportunity to have 1-to-1 online meetings with Mathias to discuss the marketing of their individual film projects.

If you wish to avail of a one-to-one online meeting after the workshop please include a 1-2 page treatment of your project.

Through recent case studies and a very hands-on approach the tutor Mathias Noschis will give a practical overview of strategic elements and social media techniques for independent films - both fiction and documentary. The first part will focus on marketing strategy: mapping of target groups, identification of benchmarks, positioning and SWOT analysis. The second part will explore how digital marketing can be used to promote films on an international and national level, from the festival premiere to the national release.

About Mathias Noschis, Tutor

Mathias Noschis is the founder of Alphapanda, a film marketing agency with team members in Berlin, Warsaw and Milan. Alphapanda’s client list includes Warner Bros., the European Film Awards and several independent producers, distributors and sales agents. The type of projects handled by Alpahpanda include An Cailín Ciúin(Berlinale ’22 & Oscars ’23), Corpus Christi (Venice ’19), God’s Own Country (Sundance ’17), Touch Me Not (Berlinale Golden Bear ’17) as well as documentaries Pianoforte (CPH:DOX ’23), Flee (Sundance ’21) and The New Gospel (Venice ’19).
