Looking to continue your professional development in 2023? Here is a selection of European training programmes funded by MEDIA that have upcoming deadlines.

You can search for training programmes on the Creative Europe MEDIA Training Guide website. The site provides information on training and mentoring courses which are currently receiving support from Creative Europe MEDIA. Search by level, country, sector and more.

You can apply for a Screen Ireland Training Bursary if you plan to participate in international or online international skills development programmes, workshops, and structured work programmes to assist your professional development.

Introduction to Virtual Production - Erich Pommer Institut

Virtual production, one of the most important developments in filmmaking of the last years, is becoming a vital asset to the audiovisual industry. Not only large Hollywood productions make use of this new technology, but also small scale or even short film productions see its immense possibilities.

This seminar rom Erich Pommer Institut will be on 28th March as an online webinar. It will introduce audiovisual professionals to the different kinds of virtual production, the basics of how to run a virtual production and when and where the technology presents a key asset to state-of-the-art content production.

The seminar will not only help participants understand its possibilities and provide an overview of helpful tools but will also touch upon the challenges that can arise while implementing virtual production.

FRAME BASICS | INA | Apply by 15th April

FRAME Basics 2023

FRAME Basics is the first training session of the 2023 edition of the FRAME training programme, organised by French National Audiovisual Institute (INA) with the support of FIAT/IFTA and EBU Academy, and co-funded by MEDIA.

FRAME Basics is for professionals who want to acquire the fundamentals of audiovisual archiving. The training programme will cover all the audiovisual archiving process steps and aspects, from preservation, digitisation, documentation to access, reuse and promotion.

Training will take place online during 6 half-day, in two parts, from 7-12 June and 12-14 June 2023.

European Showrunner Training | IFS | Apply by 3rd April 2023

European Showrunners 2023

European Showrunner Training is a 6 month, training and mentoring programme aimed at experienced series writers.

Head of Programme is Danish writer and showrunner Jeppe Gjervig Gram (Borgen). European Showrunner Training starts in June 2023.

An online information event will be held on 15th March to detail more about this programme.

Fees: €2,500 including accommodation and meals. On location in Cologne and online

ACE Producers 33 | Ace Producers | Apply by 2nd May

ACE Producers 33

Every year ACE Producers accepts 18 experienced film producers into the renowned ACE Network after completing ACE’s Annual Programme of executive education.

Interested producers are asked to submit a project in development that is suitable for co-production and aimed at the international market along with their application.
