The European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2027 are open for submissions until 7 September 2026.
Whether you are an individual, a team of experts or an organisation, this is your chance to share your achievements and compete for Europe’s most prestigious heritage awards. Launched by the European Commission in 2002 and run by Europa Nostra ever since, the Awards are supported by Creative Europe.
The Awards celebrate excellence in the protection, conservation, research, education and promotion of cultural heritage across Europe, covering a wide range of categories and project types – from tangible to intangible heritage.
Europa Nostra Award Categories
Applications can be submitted in one of the following five categories:
- Conservation & Adaptive Reuse
- Research
- Education, Training & Skills
- Citizens’ Engagement & Awareness-raising
- Heritage Champions.

Europa Nostra Funding Information Webinar 27 August
Are you interested in applying for the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2027? The Awards department of Europa Nostra will host a webinar on Thursday, 27 August 2026, from 5pm to 6pm (CEST) / 4pm to 5pm Irish time.
The selection procedure will be explained in more detail and tips will be given on how to best present a project and avoid common errors in preparing the application.Participants will have some time to ask questions at the end of the event.
