The European Showrunner Programme consists of a part-time training and mentoring programme for experienced series writers, a series of industry events to define and establish the showrunner role in Europe, and the European Showrunner Network.
In 2022, the ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln launched the European Showrunner Programme, an innovative initiative focusing on the showrunner position in Europe. This international programme rests on three pillars: At its core is the European Showrunner Training, a six-month, part-time training and mentoring programme for aspiring showrunners, which is aimed at experienced series writers.

Head of Programme is the renowned Danish writer and showrunner (Borgen, Follow the Money), Jeppe Gjervig Gram.
The third edition of the »European Showrunner Training starts in June 2024. The deadline for applications is 14th April, 2024.
