Call for Journalism Partnerships - Collaborations 2026
Call for Journalism Partnerships - Collaborations 2026 offers funding to groups of transnational media organisations in order to foster media transformation, trustworthy reporting, and skill enhancements for news media professionals.
The European news media sectors are facing multiple challenges. Partly as result of the digital shift, the financial sustainability of professional journalism is under pressure. This opening aims to help European news media become more sustainable and resilient specifically by supporting cross-border media collaborations.
Creative Europe's Cross Sector call for Journalism Partnerships - Collaborations offers funding to groups of transnational media organisations in order to foster media transformation, trustworthy reporting, and skill enhancements for news media professionals.
Examples of projects that might be funded include:
- initiatives to improve media production standards;
- New business model development
- Establishment of new types of newsrooms and journalistic formats
- Sharing of best practices, etc.
The total available budget is €6.9 million. Each project can be granted a maximum of €2 million. The maximum co-financing rate is 80% of the total eligible costs. This means that applicants need to co-finance their projects.
This funding call is one of the two topics launched this year under the Journalism Partnerships call for proposals. The other call is News Journalism Partnerships - Collaborations whichseeks to help the wider European news media sector become more sustainable and resilient, including small media.
Funding is available for collaborative projects between any news media sector or genre that enhance cooperation, help media adapt to new economic and consumption realities, and instil systemic change across that sector.
The deadline for both Journalism Partnerships calls is 4 February, 2026.
