The Culture Office team are delighted to be invited to the Community Arts Networking Day in Cork County Hall on Wednesday 22nd October. This event is organised by Cork County and City Council Arts Offices.

This event welcomes artists, community leaders, advocacy groups, educators, and representatives from the public and voluntary sectors across city and county for a lively day of exchange focused on socially engaged arts practice and collaborative creativity.

The day will provide opportunities for connection, to inspire with best practice examples, and to offer practical advice on how to deliver collaborative arts projects in Cork.

Programme Highlights

  • Keynote speech from socially engaged artist, Marie Brett.
  • Collaborative Arts Pecha Kucha Talks (20 second x 20 slides) including presentations from Nocht Studios, Aoife Desmond, Suisha Arts, Amna Walayat, amongst others.
  • Speed Networking for Artists and Organisations; Information Tables for funding and resources with representatives from resource organisations including Arts Council, Creative Europe Desk Ireland, CREATE, Cork County Council, Cork City Council, The Wheel, Age & Opportunity, and more.

Morning Session | 10.30am: Introductions

  • 10:45am: Collaborative Arts Pecha Kucha Talks (20 second x 20 slides)
  • 12.30 – 1pm: Speed Networking for Artists and Organisations
  • Lunch served at 1pm

Afternoon Session

  • 2pm Panel talk on the Different Models of Collaborative Arts in Cork
  • 3pm Keynote Speaker

Details and Accessibility

  • Location: County Hall, Carrigrohane Road, Cork T12R2NC (opposite Kingsley Hotel) Parking: There is free public parking on the campus to the rear of the County Library building (T12 K335) which opens at 10am.Public Transport:
  • The 220 and 208 busses stop nearby at Victorias Cross. Access notes: County Hall is wheelchair accessible.
  • There are accessible toilets on the ground floor and floor 16.
  • There is designated accessible parking.
  • Quiet areas and comfort areas provided throughout the day.
  • All talks will be relaxed.
  • Attendance can be flexible.
  • The event is child friendly.
  • Where required they will provide live captioning, ISL interpreter, assisted listening, sighted guide, and a loop system.
