Craftwork4all is a platform supported by Creative Europe that connects 12 European countries in support of emerging craft artists. Apply for their Live Residencies by 1st September.

Craftwork4.0All is an international platform connecting 12 organisations from 12 European countries in order to support new and emerging craft artists and practitioners, helping them collaborate, develop their skills, and promote their work nationally and internationally. The Irish partner in this platform is Carlow County Council.

The platform encourages co-creation and the use of new technologies to innovate the craft industry, preserve its history, and shape its future. It also aims to engage marginalised communities and institutions to raise awareness of the needs of emerging craft artists and improve their representation in the sector.

Craftwork4All Live Residencies

Live Residencies will happen from November 2026 to August 2027 in 12 countries across Europe. Apply to co-create, learn, and connect and participate in a final exhibition.

  • Learn about new materials and techniques from peer craft practitioners
  • Learn how to bring your craft practice to the next level
  • Showcase the co-created craft piece in Craftwork4.0All Exhibition

About Craftwork4All Residencies

Duration

  • 1 week or 2 weeks

Locations

  • Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Financial Support

  • The financial support for Craft Practitioners covers travels, accommodation, daily subsistence and materials. Detailed information will be shared in September 2025 during the first online session.

Selection Criteria for Live Residencies

Take part in the following sessions in English:
• September - October 2025: 5 ONLINE SESSIONS on Zoom meeting platform

  1. 19th September from 3 to 7pm. Topic: Presentation of the 12 Live Residencies
  2. 26th September from 3 to 5 pm. Topic: Presentation of the 240 Craft Practitioners and networking
  3. 3rd October from 3 to 5 pm. Topic: Explanation of how co-creation will happen in the residencies
  4. 10th October from 3 to 7 p.m. Topic: Speed dating to start forming the craft couples
  5. Date: 17th October from 3 to 5 p.m. Topic: Getting to know each other better and final couple formation
  • January 2026 will see the selection of couples who will pass on to the next rounds.
  • March - July 2026 5 ONLINE SESSIONS (around 3 hours each) with the Residency Host
    • Immersion and understanding: focus on the Residency theme
    • Exploration and inspiration: focus on specific techniques, material studies and inspirational examples
    • Ideation and conceptualisation: brainstorming and initial concept development for the co-created piece
    • Product design and production planning: refining the chosen concept and developing a production strategy
    • Pitch about what you ideated: developing and practicing a compelling pitch for the co-created piece.
