Includes films made thanks to EU initiatives such as Eurimages Cinema Fund, European Film Promotion as well as events such as the European Film Awards, European Cinema Month, A Season of Classic Films, and the LUX Audience Award.

LUX Audience Award winner 2025 is Flow by Gints Zilbalodis

The winner of the 2025 LUX Audience Award was announced on 29th of April in the Hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels: the winning film is Flow directed by Gints Zilbalodis. Flow won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2025.

The world seems to be coming to an end, teeming with the vestiges of a human presence. Cat is a solitary animal but when his home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences

Irish Animation Awards, Saturday 24th May

Animation Ireland’s awards ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding creative talent within the Irish Animation. This is Animation Ireland’s sixth awards ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding creative talent within the Irish Animation, VFX and gaming industries. The awards will take place at The Galway Bay Hotel, Co Galway, on 24th May 2025.

The Seed of the Sacred Fig | IFI at Home

Iman, an investigating judge in the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, grapples with mistrust and paranoia as nationwide political protests intensify and his gun mysteriously disappears. Suspecting the involvement of his wife Najmeh and his daughters Rezvan and Sana, he imposes drastic measures at home, causing tensions to rise. Step by step, social norms and the rules of family life are being suspended. The Seed of The Sacred Fig, by Mohammad Rasoulof (Germany, France, Iran, 2024) was nominated for Best International Film (for Germany) in the 2025 Oscars.
