European Authors Day & Read for Real, 11 November to 12 December 2026
The 2026 edition of European Authors Day / Read For Real will once again bring readers, authors and cultural organisations together across Europe. Between 11 November and 12 December 2026, schools, libraries, bookshops and cultural institutions will organise literary events that connect authors with readers and celebrate the power of books.
European Authors Day / Read For Real aims to celebrate and co-create events, spaces, and communities where writers, illustrators, translators, and graphic artists become beloved voices and inspiring heroes for children and young people.
Help shape the #EuropeanAuthorsDay #ReadForReal celebrations across Europe with your activities. Organise an event, a Meet-up with an author, an illustrator, a translator; a workshop, a mystery game, a costume party between 11th November and 12th December as part of the European Authors Day.
