European Cultural Heritage Summit 26 to 30 May 2026 - livestream of key events
Europa Nostra is set to welcome participants to Nicosia and online for the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2026 from 26 to 30 May. Under the motto 'Heritage as the Soul of Mare Nostrum,' this high-level gathering will explore the geopolitical, societal, and environmental relevance of cultural heritage across Europe and the wider Mediterranean.
The summit will convene leading policymakers, heritage professionals, academics, and civil society actors from across the continent and beyond for five days of discussions, site visits and public events.
The Ceremony is jointly organised by Europa Nostra and the European Commission with the support of the Creative Europe and in cooperation with the Europa Nostra Heritage Hub in Nicosia. The Summit is held under the patronage of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, and is supported by the European Union.

European Cultural Heritage Summit Livestream
The following key events of the summit will be livestreamed:
- Thursday, 28 May, European Heritage Awards Ceremony 2026, 6pm - 8pm Irish time/ 7pm - 9pm CEST. The 30 winners of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2026 will be celebrated during this high-profile Ceremony. During the Ceremony, the Grand Prix laureates and the Public Choice Award winner will be announced.
- Friday, 29 May, European Heritage Policy Agora 2026, Mare Nostrum: Championing Environmental Sustainability through Heritage,' 8am - 10:30am | 9am - 11:30am CEST. The Agora will explore how cultural heritage can drive sustainable development across the wider Mediterranean. By highlighting projects, this event will show how initiatives linking cultural and natural heritage strengthen climate action, boost the resilience of the heritage ecosystem, and promote inclusive communities.
- European Heritage Hub Forum 2026, 'Mare Nostrum: Fostering Peace through Heritage,' 12:15 - 4:3pm Irish time | 13:15 – 5:30 CEST. The European Heritage Hub Forum will focus on cultural heritage as a powerful vector of peace across the Mediterranean, with special emphasis on the Middle East. In a region marked by conflict, division and political tensions, heritage can serve as a bridge between communities that share intertwined histories.The Forum will highlight projects of Europe-Middle East cooperation, demonstrating how sustained collaboration between European civil society organisations and local partners from the Middle East can strengthen community resilience and foster peaceful engagement.
