Looking to continue your professional development in the audiovisual industry? Have a look at this selection of European training programmes funded by MEDIA that have deadlines in early 2024.

You can search for a selection of training programmes on the Creative Europe MEDIA Training Guide website. The site provides information on training and mentoring courses which are currently receiving support from Creative Europe MEDIA. Search by level, country, sector and more.

In Ireland, you can apply for a Screen Ireland Training Bursary if you plan to participate in international or online international skills development programmes, workshops, or a structured work programmes that will assist your professional development.

ACE Leadership Special

The ACE Leadership Special is aimed at experienced producers looking to establish sound business foundations for their companies and develop their personal leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

Open to members of the ACE Network and other experienced, established producers of a similar level, the ACE Leadership Special takes place over two 3-day residential workshops with additional online sessions complementing them.

12 producers will be selected, each with their own experience of running a company and their own unique entrepreneurial capabilities, allowing the small group to benefit not only from the knowledge of the workshop consultants, but from each other’s lived experiences.

Workshop Dates

  • 18 – 21 June 2024, Bergen, The Netherlands
  • 17 – 20 September 2024, Mallorca, Spain
  • Plus other online elements

Application Process and Costs

  • Applicants will be asked to complete an application form comprising of a biography, company profile and motivation letter.

  • Cost is €3,500 or €3,250 for ACE Network Members. The fee covers full board, accommodation and training during the workshops. Travel costs are not included.
  • Application deadline is the 5th March 2024.

This programme is supported by Creative Europe MEDIA, the Netherlands Film Fund and the Mallorca Film Commission.

MFI Script 2 Film Workshops

MFI Script 2 Film programme offers script and project development for feature films, feature docs or series.

The training is open to European an international creative teams of screenwriters, producers, and directors with a feature film, TV series or a documentary project in development. It is also open to script development professionals without a project including screenwriters, script consultants, trainers, commissioning editors, producers, and decision makers who would like to learn more about the script and project development training process.

Workshop Dates

  • Session 1: 21 June- 3 July, 2024 NISYROS, GREECE.
  • Session 2: Aug / Sep 2024, online
  • Session 3: 19 - 27 October, 2024 RHODES, GREECE
  • Session 4: January 2025, online.

Application Process and Costs

  • Cost for screenwriters, directors, and script development professionals is €2,000.
  • Cost for producers is €1,500 for 1st residential session and on-line sessions and an additional €500 for the second residential session.
  • Deadline with a project 1st March 2024
  • Deadline without a project: 1st April 2024

Torino Film Lab | SeriesLab Story Editing

SeriesLab Story Editing is a training programme for professionals who want to work with writers, writer-directors and producers in the development of their TV series projects.

The programme is for industry professionals who want to deepen their knowledge of how to nurture a TV series from idea to a marketable sales package. They will learn about story and script development including originals and adaptations; limited and ongoing formats; series and serials.

Workshop Dates

  • Three 5-day long residential workshops in June, September, and November, 2024.
  • Final industry pitching presentation during the TFL Meeting Event in Turin.

Application Process and Costs

  • Participation fee: €1,500. The fee covers training activities residential and online sessions and organisational support including accommodations and part of the subsistence during the residential workshops. Participants must pay their own travel costs.

PUENTES 2024, Latin America - Europe Co-Production Workshop

EAVE’s training programme for developing Latin American - Europe co-productions is now open until 15th February, 2024. The workshop is targeted at film professionals from Latin America and Europe who wish to strengthen connections between the two regions.

Ten producers will be selected who will focus on project development of fiction films. In addition, 4 to 5 European film professionals without a project will be selected who will focus on career development. These professionals can include sales agents, financiers, distributors, festival programmers, co-production market representatives, and European producers.

Approaching the industry from a producer's perspective, PUENTES focuses on evaluating artistic potential, formulating marketing and distribution strategies, guiding through the development process and identifying market and financing opportunities in both Latin America and Europe.

Workshop Dates

  • Workshop 1 - Italy, 15 - 21 July
  • Workshop 2 - Uruguay, late November or early December

Application Process and Costs

  • Participation at PUENTES is free of charge. Each participant will be offered accommodation during the workshop stay and part of the meals will be covered. In addition, EAVE offer a limited number of partial scholarships to contribute to the travel costs in specific cases.
