Meeting of the Creative Europe Desks in Dublin, 30 October 2026

CED Meeting2026

Today, 30 October 2026, representatives from the Creative Europe Desks will meet in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. The event, in partnership with Department of Culture, Communications and Sport will welcome delegates from 24 countries across Europe to Dublin.

They will be joined by representatives from the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), the Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, and other key stakeholders from across the Cultural and Creative Sectors. The meeting will focus on how the Creative Europe Desks can best reach a wide range of sectors, and the importance of inclusive cultural mobility initiatives for cross border exchange.

Creative Europe is the European Commission's flagship programme to support the culture and audiovisual sectors. The Creative Europe Desks in each country provide tailored advice on European funding and opportunities for the cultural and creative sectors.

Delegates will hear from representatives from the European Commission and experts from across the cultural sectors, with the opportunity to participate in policy and best practice discussions. Panelists will explore how to strengthen and promote the multiple roles of public libraries and examine how reading and literacy policies at EU level can benefit citizens across Europe.

The importance of equality and collaboration will be explored by representatives from the Creative Europe Desks and by the G-Book Project which supports the circulation of gender-positive teens’ literature at an EU level. On the Move, who provide resources for artists and cultural professionals to work internationally, will discuss the important topic of forcibly displaced artists and the hosting of at-risk and displaced artists and cultural professionals in Europe. There will be a close look at Culture Moves Europe funding for residency hosts which funds collaborations between hosts, artists, and cultural professionals.

Lucy Tevlin, Head of the Culture Office at Creative Europe Desk Ireland commented:
