Music Moves Europe strengthens dialogue with EU music sector
A consortium will organise a series of dialogue meetings at major music conferences in Europe and organise two EU level conferences. The aim is to strengthen and structure the dialogue on music in the context of Creative Europe's Music Moves Europe initiative.
The European Commission has chosen a consortium to implement the four year action Music Moves Europe - Strengthening the dialogue on Music. It is led by Eurosonic Noorderslag ENS (Netherlands) in partnership with ARTmania (Romania), Linecheck (Italy), MaMa (France), Reeperbahn Festival (Germany), and Tallinn Music Week (Estonia).
The consortium will organise two European conferences on the main developments in the music sector for policy makers and European stakeholders. They will also organise a series of Music Moves Europe dialogue meetings at major music conferences in Europe, to strengthen the exchange on European policies that impact the music sector and its professionals. The first dialogue session will take place at Tallinn Music Week 11-14 May 2023.
Overall this action will provide information on EU opportunities to help the music sector flourish and address its challenges. Another element of the action will be to come up with a conceptual framework definition of the term 'music ecosystem.'
European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Education and Culture, Mariya Gabriel said: 'This action will complement our existing communication channels with the music sector. I am convinced that it will bring a useful contribution to our continued efforts – under the Music Moves Europe initiative - to provide targeted support to the sector, its professionals and musicians. I remain committed to help this sector recover from the Covid-19 crisis and cope with ongoing and new challenges, from the green and digital transitions to the challenges posed by the energy crisis.'
