Creative Europe Desk Ireland MEDIA Office invites you to our Networking Breakfast which is supported by Coimisiún Na Meán. The MEDIA Networking Breakfast and Briefing on AVMSD Audiovisual Media Services Directive will take place from 10am to 12 noon on Thursday 14th March, in the Sky Suite, Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 2.

The focus of this event will be the EU’s Audiovisual Media Services Directive. The AVMSD governs the coordination of national legislation across EU countries of all audiovisual media. The directive was adopted in 2010 but was updated in 2018 with a number of key changes.

Marta Sanagustin Riazuelo, Head of Sector in the Audiovisual and Media Policy Unit in DG CONNECT in the EU Commission will give an overview of these amendments to the AVMSD. Thanks to Coimisiún Na Meán for their support of this event.

About Marta Sanagustin Riazuelo

Marta Sanagustin Riazuelo is Head of Sector for Audiovisual Media Services in DG CONNECT at the European Commission, dealing with the implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD). This includes notably the new rules introduced by the revised AVMSD in 2018 to adapt to the new technological developments, preserve cultural diversity, promote accessibility, protect children and consumers, and safeguard media pluralism, among other important areas.

Before her current post, Marta already dealt with audiovisual matters, working in copyright issues and in particular in the copyright reform. Her previous experience in the Commissions includes positions in telecommunication, legal affairs, inter-institutional issues, and research.

Event Details and Accessibility

About the Event

  • The event will run for 2 hours from 10am to 12pm in the Sky Suite, Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 2.
  • Breakfast will be served on arrival. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.
  • At 10.30am the event will open with a brief introduction from Orla Clancy, Creative Europe Desk Ireland MEDIA Office.
  • Following this, there will be a remote presentation by Marta Sanagustin Riazuelo of DG Connect in the EU commission.

Event Accessibility

  • High quality FFP2 masks will be offered on entry. Please note that speakers will not wear masks while speaking.
  • The event venue is a well-ventilated space with accessible entrance, lifts and toilets.
  • There are quiet spaces close to the meeting room for anyone who may need a break from the main space.
  • We can provide early entry for those who may need it.
