Cork International Film Festival is a local, national and international celebration of cinema, running annually for eight days in November.

Award-winning films from the international film festival circuit, new discoveries and cinema classics are selected by our experienced curatorial team, to be premiered online via the Festival Digital Platform, available to viewers nationwide.

The Festival presents nine awards, including Gradam Spiorad na Féile / Spirit of the Festival Award, (presented by The Gate Cinema), Gradam na Féile do Scannáin Faisnéise / Award for Cinematic Documentary, and the Audience Award. Its awards for Grand Prix Irish Short (presented by RTÉ), Grand Prix International Short and Grand Prix Documentary Short Award are Academy Award® qualifying, ensuring that the winners in Cork automatically join the Oscars’ longlist.

The 65th Edition of Cork International Film Festival took place online from 8th to 15th November 2020.

Thanks to Creative Europe Media's support, Cork International Film Festival has been able to grow and develop, showcasing the largest programme of European features and short films in Ireland, and facilitating pan-European conversations amongst filmmakers and Irish audiences. We continue to innovate - in 2020, Cork International Film Festival responded imaginatively to the global pandemic and presented a full Digital Festival programme, increasing engagement with Irish and European film by 65%. At 66 years young, we continue to be the festival that is not afraid to change, disrupt and adapt, and we move forward in 2021 with determination and ambition.
Fiona Clark, Festival Director and CEO.
