IndieRe 2.0 (Independent Radio Exchange) is a continuation of the project of the same name, which Radio Študent implemented as lead partner between 2019 and 2022. The project facilitates production and exchange of radio broadcasts that promote local, less known alternative and urban European music artists.

Each project partner is an independent radio station with capable music journalists and good connections to local, alternative and underground music scene in their respective countries. Partners will increase the visibility and facilitate potential breakthroughs of prospective young music artists with more than 200 radio broadcasts presenting over 900 music artists from 2022 – 2024.

Three international project conferences will be organised with external expert speakers to address new developments and emerging challenges in the fields of music production, promotion, distribution and monetisation, as well as the environmental aspects of contemporary music production and the role of music emancipation of marginalised social groups.

The conferences will be geared towards knowledge sharing and capacity building for partner radios, as well as musicians and other music professionals. The project will also include an extensive promotional campaign at European level in order to further increase the visibility of included music artists.

‘The Indie-RE project is a great project that offers a platform for a diverse range of unsigned, up and coming Irish musicians to access audiences all over Europe. The project has given Near FM the impetus and recourses to further prioritise independent music on our station. We are also able to engage with other Irish community radio stations who broadcast the programmes. The project is a tremendous addition to our programme schedule and is inspiring other programme makers to feature new, up and coming Irish music on their shows.’ Paul Loughran, Project manager, Indie-RE, Near FM.
