The Commoner (2025 / 2026)

The Commoner (also known as Harald & Sonja) was produced by Paradox with Irish company, Newgrange Pictures, as co-producer who received TV & Online Content funding for this project in 2023.

The Commoner (Harald and Sonja) centers on the nine-year struggle of Harald, Crown Prince of Norway, to get permission to marry Sonja Haraldsen, an ordinary, non-royal 'commoner,' from his father, King Olav V.

Starring in the historical drama are Sindre Strand Offerdal (Astronauter og filmstjerner) as Crown Prince Harald, Gina Bernhoft Gørvell (Dates in Real Life) as Sonja Haraldsen, Anders Baasmo (La Palma, Exit, Kon-Tiki) as King Olav V, and Anneke von der Lippe (Troll, The Girl from Oslo, Atlantic Crossing) as Dagny Haraldsen, Sonja’s mother.

Available to stream in the US and Norway from April 2026 on PrimeVideo and Apple TV.
