Magpie 6 Media’s preschool series show follows the adventures of a Wee Little family, living, loving, and sharing in a great big world. The Wee Littles’ stories are about how they handle being very small in a very big world using their own inventive flair. How do you deal with a housefly in the kitchen when it’s as big as a Beagle? Or how do you keep dry when raindrops are the size of your head? The Wee Littles work together to overcome life’s little obstacles by using imagination, positive support and humour.
The Wee Littles was supported by Creative Europe MEDIA and Screen Ireland development funding and used an innovative animation method the company calls 'SimStop.'
The show is also funded by Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI), RTÉ, WRAP Fund, and Screen Ireland; and distributed by Toon 2 Tango.
Magpie 6 Media was founded in 2009 by husband and wife team Clifford Parrott and Christina O’Shea.
‘Magpie 6 Media is honoured to receive its first Creative Media Development award for an original animation series for Pre Schoolers. The show was inspired by the Irish flora and fauna of County Clare’s magical woodlands. The characters are real hand-crafted stop motion puppets which are then scanned into a digital environment creating a unique world, inhabited by a very small forest family called ‘The Wee Littles.’ Creative Europe has allowed the further exploration of this unique pipeline and we are truly grateful for their support and faith in the project.’ Christina O’Shea, Producer, Magpie 6 Media
