Documentary: A European Perspective 2025
MEDIA Office Galway with the support of Coimisiún na Meán will host an information and pitching event called Documentary: A European Perspective in Galway on Thursday 23rd October 2025.
Broadcasters involved in previous years include BBC Storyville, Netflix, SVT, RTÉ, TG4, S4C and the Creative Artists Agency.
The event will take place in Portershed a Dó, Galway, on Thursday 23rd October 2025. It is organised in association with Paradiddle Pictures and will be moderated by Ove Rishøj Jensen.
The day will begin at 9.30 with a panel session where European commissioning editors present their documentary slots and discuss their editorial strategies.
Following a short break, eight selected Irish filmmakers will pitch projects in development to the panel of European commissioning editors.
The selected filmmakers will have one-to-one meetings in the afternoon.

PITCH A PROJECT
If you wish to pitch a project to European commissioning editors, please send your project presentation by email to MEDIA Office Galway to eolas@creativeeuropeireland.eu by Thursday 18th September 2025.
The project presentation should include the following:
- Synopsis – half a page
- Treatment and early reflections on the narrative – a full page
- A link to selected scenes, characters or other visual material
- An estimated time frame and total budget for the film
- Contact details for the director and producer
The presentation should be a maximum of three pages.
