Spring Forward Festival Dublin – Networking Breakfast 28th April

The Culture Office of Creative Europe Desk Ireland, in partnership with Aerowaves and the Dance team at the Arts Council of Ireland, invites you to join us for a Networking Breakfast Event on 28th April as part of the Spring Forward Festival which takes place in Dublin from 27th to 29th April.

This free Networking Breakfast will take place on Friday 28th April from 9.30am to 10.30am in Project Arts Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 and will bring together dancers, choreographers, organisations and producers working in the dance sector both nationally and internationally to network and share knowledge.

The Culture Office will present on the new Culture Moves Europe mobility award for both dance artists and cultural professionals which funds mobility to develop an artist’s practice and meet potential collaborators within the European Union. The European Commission acknowledges that mobility of artists and cultural professionals is a fundamental part of an artist or art professional’s career. We'll also outline the ongoing funding opportunities for organisations wishing to work with European partners transnationally.

Lisa McLoughlin, Head of Dance at the Arts Council Ireland will talk about international supports for dance artists and organisations.

Dance artists based in Ireland Aoife McAtamney and Aine Stapleton will talk about how they have accessed national funding from the Arts Council and developed relationships internationally. Aoife McAtamney is an Aerowaves artist and has been a part of the Choreography Connect IRIS award with CoisCeim funded by the International Team at the Arts Council. Aine Stapleton has been working internationally, primarily in Switzerland, creating work about Lucia Joyce.

Aerowaves is working with a number of local venues, including Project Arts Centre, Smock Alley Theatre, The Complex, Samuel Beckett Theatre and Dance Ireland to bring the Spring Forward Festival to Dublin audiences.

Some of the works and double bills presented at Spring Forward Festival 27-29 April 2023, Dublin are open to the public at The Complex and Smock Alley. Spring Forward is primarily a professional festival, thus only registered professionals will have access to all the programme.
