With over 450 million citizens, the EU is a hub for culture and creativity that stretches beyond national borders and across our shared Union. Yet how much do you know about how the EU supports art, architecture, cultural heritage, design, literature and publishing, music, performing arts, film, animation or video games?

This Culture Night, the Creative Europe Desk and European Movement Ireland will collaborate to put the ‘fun’ in EU funding and showcase the power that culture and media has to bring citizens across Europe together.

Join us at 8 Fitzwilliam Street Lower any time between 5pm and 8.30pm to check out our exhibition of successfully funded creative projects, chat with staff about funding options for your next piece, and enjoy live music as you journey through your 2025 Culture Night.

No registration required.

Featured Artist | Lucy Folan

Lucy Folan is a graduate of Fashion Design from the National College of Art and Design, 2022. Since completing her studies, her practice has centred around experimental textiles and garment making with a focus on sustainable design.

In 2023, with funding from Culture Moves Europe she undertook a residency at Lottozero Textiles Laboratory in Prato, Italy. Lucy’s research began with the theme of creating visual depth through textiles, however, evolved into a valuable exploration of relationships between materials and surroundings.

Techniques such as cyanotype printing and the innovative use of plastic waste highlighted sustainable practices and her time in Prato became a unique opportunity to explore circular fashion systems, garment recycling methods, and eco-conscious textile development. Lucy's collections have been featured in prominent Dublin stores, including Om Diva and Bow & Pearl, and have been worn by notable Irish artists such as CMAT and Pippa Molony.

In 2024, she was recognised by The Irish Times as one of their 'Ones to Watch' for her contribution to the future of Irish fashion and textiles. Currently, Lucy is expanding her creative experience, working in costume for theatre and film.
