LIM Call for Writers + Directors with a feature in early development

LIM website

Less is More (LIM) is open to 1st, 2nd and 3rd feature film projects, as well as to artists coming from strong theatre, documentary, or visual arts backgrounds.

LIM | Less is More has been set up to empower a generation of filmmakers intent on opening new avenues and finding new audiences by tackling new issues. Their motto is Igor Stravinsky’s 'The more art is bound by limitations, the freer it is.' LIM (called LIM2 in 2026) will offer a new generation of filmmakers, already known either for their short films or first features, the opportunity to design a route into feature film production.

Around 50 projects will be selected to our three online toolbox sessions (2 hours each) and masterclasses, aimed at supporting the early stages of development through innovative tools and methodologies.

Among the 50 projects above, 16 will be invited to join the main LIM on-site programme (with a series of online meetings), dedicated to the development of their first, second, or third feature film. Applicants with backgrounds in theatre, documentary, or visual arts are also encouraged to apply.

LIM² welcomes applications from writers and directors:

LIM² Online Development Support | January to Feb 2026

In 2026, three free online masterclasses will be offered that are designed to:

  • Give around 50 projects free access to the LIM² Toolbox.
  • Introduce new methodologies aimed at strengthening the ideation phase and advancing the development of audiovisual projects.
  • Provide collaborative tools inspired by cognitive science research
  • Participation is free of charge.

From the 50 projects participating in online development, sixteen will be offered a place on LIM's on-site programme. The fee is €900.

  • A tailor-made Showcase event, LIM² MEET connecting participants with industry professionals from across Europe
  • Participation fee is €900 for writers and directors.
  • Apply by 15th October 2025 before 11am Irish time which is 12:00 noon (CET).
