Ukraine Fundraiser Screenings Dublin + Galway in November

Ukrainian Culture Nights is a curated series of fundraising events supported by the Creative Europe Desk Ireland in collaboration with Ukrainian performer, composer and curator Olesya Zdorovetska, founder of the Ukrainian-Irish Cultural Platform.

We will also host fundraiser film screenings in Dublin and Galway. of the internationally acclaimed Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors a 1965 Ukrainian film by one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers Sergei Parajanov. See below for details.

On Friday 11th of November we will host a cultural reception with performances and talks at the Museum of Literature Ireland. Olesya Zdorovetska will present a performance of contemporary Ukrainian music and poetry. We are also delighted to invite Olesya Khromeychuk, a historian, writer, theatre maker and the director of the Ukrainian Institute in London, who will read from her recent novel A Loss: The Story of a Dead Soldier Told by His Sister, placing the current war in Ukraine in a historical context.

Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, Pálás Cinema, Galway, Thursday 17th November, reception at 6.00pm followed by screening until 8.30pm. Tickets €11.53.
