Creative Places Balbriggan will host a free information clinic on funding supports available for artists and community group arts projects locally, nationally and internationally. Creative Europe Desk Ireland will attend to talk about Culture and MEDIA funding available to support the culture and audiovisual sectors in Ireland.
Speakers
- Fingal County Arts Officer Sarah O'Neill will provide information on the Fingal Artists' Support Scheme and Arts Act Grant which provides financial assistance to individual artists, art groups, and community projects.
- Aoife Tunney and Lucy Tevlin from CEDI Culture Office will outline funding available for cultural organisations and for artists, musicians and other creative professionals willing to implement a project abroad with funding from the Culture Moves Europe scheme.
- Guest Artist: Paul Hallahan will chat about his experience of Culture Moves Europe Mobility funding. Paul works out of Fire Station Studios in Dublin. His work circles back to the same questions, always: nature and our place within it, the struggle to see clearly, to hold steady. He paints, mostly, though sometimes he sculpts, and every so often, he turns to video.
- Orla Clancy from CEDI MEDIA Office will present some of the Irish audiovisual work funded by Creative Europe MEDIA such as film, animation, TV, documentaries, and video games. She will also chat about the EU training opportunities available for media professionals as well as a new Screen Ireland scheme that aims to boost new and diverse writing talent.
The event is free and open to any local artists in and around the Balbriggan area, as well as community groups with an arts interest.
