Vertical Dance Forum (2017 - 2019) engaged reflections on vertical dance’s practice. What are the motivations of practising this art form? What political, sociological and even ecological issues do the creators uncover with their art? What crossings are possible? How to promote the diversity of the practice and to anticipate its transmission?

In June 2018, Irish partner FIDGET FEET took to the walls of King John's Castle, the Limerick Strand Hotel and cliffs in the Burren, Connemara to train 16 Irish and international dancers. This event was part of the Vertical Dance Forum in which the world’s top vertical dance creators, directors and choreographers trained people in vertical dance and created new outdoor performances on historical sites, city centre buildings and outdoor nature landscapes.

'Since 2014, Vertical Dance Forum have gathered annually to exchange and reflect on its practice in all its artistic, pedagogic and technical diversity and to generously share our passion for the art form with everyone – artists, institutions and the public. This project extended Fidget Feet’s pool of performers and contacts within the aerial arts and vertical dance sector and brought exposure to the Irish Aerial Creation Centre as a professional hub for training and residencies.'
