Join Creative Europe Desk Ireland and European Movement Ireland on Culture Night, Friday 18 September, for Europe Expressed: From Ireland to Europe through the Arts in 8 Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin 2, D02 W426 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

Featuring live performances by Irish musicians work by other artists in VR and film plus a DJ set. Our event showcases European support to the Irish creative industries and highlight the importance of continued funding for the arts, culture and audiovisual sectors.

This event is part of the EUNIC European Culture Trail. For those visiting European Culture Trail events in person, you are invited to download the passport and collect stamps at each stop. You can win some wonderful prizes!

Europe Expressed Guest Artists & Projects

Venue: European Movement Ireland, 8 Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin 2, D02 W426 from 5pm to 8.30pm on Friday 18 September 2026.

There will be a selection of nibbles and soft drinks as well as free merch and booklets about about Creative Europe and European Movement Ireland. This is an alcohol-free event.

• Ar Ais Arís VR Experience: This Virtual Reality composition is about migration and isolation. Brú Theatre Galway and its team of performers, creators, designers and composers have created three 180° films which the audience can watch using Virtual Reality headsets. The experience immerses participants in a fusion of movement, text, music and the Connemara landscape. Inspired by texts from Máirtín Ó Cadhain, Pádraic Ó Conaire and Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill around the theme of migration. Irish language, literature and visual poetry are combined to make this a unique experience. It was included in Beta Festival programme which is co-funded by Creative Europe Cooperation funding awarded to Studiotopia 2.
  
• Caimin Gilmore is an Irish double bassist and composer. He is a member of contemporary music group Crash Ensemble. He has performed on Other Voices, The Late Show with James Cordon CBS, Glastonbury Festival BBC & NPR Music. He recently released original work ‘BlackGate’, through Ten Spot Records (IRL) & New Amsterdam Records (USA), with performances at Kilkenny Arts Festival, New Music Dublin, PS21 Groundtone Festival (USA), & concerts at Festival Musica Strasbourg, Belfast International Arts Festival & Music on Main Vancouver this year. Caimin is also a recipient of Culture Moves Europe funding.
• Trad Tio - Carol Keane, fiddle; Alan Byrne, banjo; Larry Egan, accordion. The Trad Trio have performed in various locations around Europe including a formal concert in Vilnius for St. Patrick’s Day festivities entertaining visiting dignitaries on behalf of the Ambassador of Ireland to Lithuania and a cultural concert in Orpheum Wien, Austria.
• JWY is a Dublin based DJ with roots in Ghana, India and Suriname, born in Amsterdam. A Skin&Blister DJ workshop participant, she has become a strong presence within the underground club circuit, known for high energy, bass driven selections and fluid genre movement. She has supported and opened for artists including Bakey, Conducta, Sherelle, Tash lc, Rotational, Jeff Mills, Sammy Virji, Amor Satyr, Nick León and Teki Latex. She has played across major Irish festivals and independent platforms such as Other Voices, Open Ear, Project 6, AVA and ATN Festival, appearing on stages including Arcadia and AVA, as well as Rave in the Woods at Electric Picnic. JWY is a resident DJ with the queer collective Rathaus and is also one half of the B2B duo BK86.
• Útóipe Cheilteach / Celtic Utopia documentary showcase. Útóipe Cheilteach / Celtic Utopia is a feature documentary that is currently screening nationwide across Ireland. After 100 years of independence, a bold new wave of young Irish artists redefine folk music and reflect over the impact of their colonial history. Co-funded by Creative Europe and co-produced by Irish company Plainsong Films.
